Blank walls are an empty canvas, inviting the color and creativity of paintings and sketches to be hung in the rooms at the Birger Sandzén Memorial Gallery in Lindsborg.
Preparing a space for another show is all in a day’s work for gallery director Ron Michael, who along with his staff, oversees the facility that opened in 1957 with a vision to preserve Birger Sandzén’s work and share the story of this amazing artist.
Their mission also includes highlighting hundreds of works from juried artists in the spaces that complement the main gallery. Michael says the exhibits rotate about every two and a half months, showcasing works from both regional and national artists. The gallery is truly in motion as new works arrive, are cataloged and replace an outgoing exhibit.
The Gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm and Sunday from 1pm to 5pm. Admission is free but donations are always appreciated. The Holiday Gift Show runs through January 8, 2023 at the Gallery.
