On a night to celebrate the achievements of seven Bethany College senior basketball players, both the men’s and women’s teams fell short of winning at Hahn Gymnasium Saturday.
The lady Swedes’ bid for a comeback win in the opener ended with a 70-65 loss to Sterling College.

During the nightcap, the BC men’s team fell behind early to the Warriors and ran out of time before they could cash in enough 3-pointers to even the score. The 109-98 loss ends the Swedes’ season with an overall record of 9-19, finishing 6-18 in the KCAC.

The lady Swedes are headed into the 2020 post season with an overall mark of 20-9 (17-7 in conference play) earning the No. 3 seed in the KCAC Championships. BC women will host No. 6 Friends University in the KCAC Quarterfinals on Wednesday, February 26, in Hahn Gymnasium at 7pm.

Walking on Air: Sr. Justin Jones was in flight, passing and scoring 26 points for Bethany.
The J: Swede Dalton Smyres pumped in 12 points in the loss to Sterling.
Board Certified: Swedes Sr. Forward Baptiste Chazelas set the BC single season record for rebounds this year, grabbing 332 boards (unofficially).
