Kendal and Caelan Peterson love the farm life and were looking for a way to share lessons they have learned from their experience in agriculture. One day while balancing chores, farming, and raising their daughter Blair, Kendal’s idea for a children’s book came rushing out as Caelan captured the story on paper.
That quick meeting around the kitchen table soon turned into Crosby the Farm Dog and the Rainy Harvest Day. The story, narrated by Crosby, shows how a family deals with unexpected circumstances during the corn harvest and finds a way to turn the day around.
Kendal’s commitment to sharing an inside look at agriculture began in 2012 through YouTube videos and speaking engagements with his siblings, The Peterson Farm Bros, and he hopes the book will help connect families too. “It’s really neat to think of parents reading this book to their kids when they are putting them to bed, hoping they’ll remember the lesson that’s in the story.”
Illustrated by Marco Primo and published by Mascot Books, the book is available for purchase on www.crosbythefarmdog.com.
